Community Centers
This project is directed at a community level so as to further the process of ingraining civil society in the politics of their state. Community centers are constructed mostly on donations and target established communities in stable societies. They are meant to provide or substitute the historical 'town hall' effect in communities. Communities are defined as being a collective or commonly referred to area of residency. Thus, things such as sub-divisions, apartment blocks, estates, and other similar styled areas of residency are communities in their own right. Representative democracy -as is currently practiced- divides government into three levels: federal, state/provincial, and municipal, with some states/provinces opting for regional governments (more administrative than legislative). What is lacking however, is an area or forum for discussion, meetings, socializing, etc. on the smallest (hence 'community') level. MEDP strives to correct that.
The College of Masters
Once MEDP's headquarters are finished the building procedure, the College of Masters will be formally established. This college serves to provide memberships and scholarships to the world's brightest minds. The caveat being that those minds seek to turn theory into practical usage, primarily - but not limited to - the discipline of humanities. An application process will be placed online as soon as is feasible.
The New Sophist's Society
Membership is extended to hand-picked individuals of exceptional merit. Scholarships are usually provided if membership is granted. Generally, being a member of the New Sophist's Society entails occasional soirées, discussions, publications, and support from and for the group.
The International Abridgment Of Democratic Improvement
An annual journal published by MEDP to, more or less, recap the events of the year. The best section submittals (book chapters) and individual papers (required to enter a section) will be published alongside the successes of the conferences. Successes are described as improvements that governments or civil society have chosen to adopt for their government and/or society. You may subscribe to the journal on our site (coming soon) or alternatively seek it out at your local library. Conversely, you may also view it online as an e-journal when such parameters are put in place. Thank you for your patience in this matter. |
